Afterpin

An ending is part of the exhibit

An artifact can remain provisional long after it has become worth showing. Another caption revision, another crop, another explanation keeps the ending just out of reach. Afterpin uses the local day as a modest external boundary. The folio closes when that day ends, not when the maker finally discovers a perfect description.

The boundary leaves room before it. A card can be lifted and replaced while the flap remains open. This matters because an immediate lock would turn the ritual into a test of making the correct first choice. Instead, the maker can revise within a limited window and then allow the window to finish.

A sealed drawer changes the relationship with yesterday. It can remain a record of that day's choice rather than a permanent request for improvement. Tomorrow opens a new flap, which may hold something unrelated. The continuity lives in the repeated act of choosing and closing, not in a requirement to build an ever more polished sequence of posts.

The folio stores one pinned card for each browser-local date. Before midnight the pin can be lifted and the selection changed. Prior dates appear as sealed drawers when the calendar rolls forward. The current card and history remain in browser storage; clearing that storage removes them. A public wall and an on-chain registry are not connected.

Revise a card before midnight and keep its final caption for the next day. Notice the consequence before adding another step. This presentation does not connect a hosted service or issue a token; its claim is the small interaction you can actually inspect.
